The beginning of Family Worship Center in Waynesburg, KY began in 1991 in home of B.J. & Marilyn Taylor with just a hand full of people.  On May 19, 1991, the first service of Family Worship Center was held in a fitness center.  The small group of people could only afford to rent half of the building, which only had room for the sanctuary.  A few months later there were enough finances to rent the whole building for classrooms.  One year later the church bought the building and four acres.  In 1994 on August 19th a new sanctuary was built and added on to the old building with class rooms, staff offices, nursery, and three restrooms.  B.J. Taylor pastored six years, and then was lead to pioneer a new church.

The church continued to grow under new leadership of

David & Dana Harris.  In 2000, Pastor David Harris compiled a team of faithful men of the church to construct a much needed activity center.  The 4,500 sq ft FWC Life Center is equipped with a basketball court, full kitchen, restrooms with showers, utility room, and classrooms & storage upstairs.  It has proved to be a valuable asset for outreach to our community.  It also host monthly dinners we have each winter as we fellowship and build friendships with each other and visitors.  In January 2006, Pastor David Harris felt lead to step down as Sr. Pastor.

From June 2006 – June 2010, Pastor Stan & Janet Vickers stepped in as Pastor.  On July 3, 2011 Pastor Steven Gates was voted in as our next Pastor and began his ministry here. He continues to lead our church in growing our relationship with Christ and reaching our community.
